The session of Academic Council dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide took place in Yerevan State University on April 21, 2015. It started with a delivery of report entitled “From Genocide to Revival” of YSU Rector, head of the YSU commission on coordinating the events dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Aram Simonyan.

The historical overview starting from the phases of planning of the Armenian Genocide, former and present policy of Turkey, the adoption of the concept of Pan-Turkism till the formation of the national thinking, the unification and revival of remaining survivors was represented.

The Rector’s speech was followed by concert program. The band of young musicians “Norayr Kartashyan and Van project”, who play traditional instruments, study the national songs and music, were performed during the event.

The students of Cultural center of YSU performed just after “Norayr Kartashyan and Van Project”. They began the performance with the specially staged dance “Eyes of Saints”, then the students recited and sang.  The event was summed up by the national dance of the members of the YSU Student Council.

Each of the performances confirmed that the Armenian people revived thanks to its talent, hard work and patriotism. “We have to be such. The students of the University must be such in life and work and overcome the consequences of the Genocide”, -noted Aram Simonyan.

YSU remembers, condemns and is the master of its homeland.
