The Institute for Armenian Studies of YSU is united under  one roof. After the reconstruction the opening ceremony of a new storey of IAS took place on the 20th of December, 2013. The chief of the stuff of the president of the Republic of Armenia Vigen Sargsyan, RA Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia Radik Martirosyan, YSU rector, director of IAS Aram Simonyan, vice-rectors and professors of YSU were present in the opening ceremony.

YSU rector, director of IAS Aram Simonyan and deputy director Mher Hovhannisyan represented the presents the new storey of the Institute. Eight departments of the Institute have all the necessary equipments (the 9th one is  the Laboratory  of  Archeological Research, which is situated in other annex of YSU, it  has all the necessary equipments as well).

 «The departments of the Institute will continue the research activities more productively»,-said Aram Simonyan in his opening speech.

Then the library of the Institute was presented to the presents. There are  more than 1500 books  and magazines on Armenian studies from «Hrachik Simonyan’s book collection» in the library. About 60 books published during these five years of research activities of the Institute were introduced to the presents, as well.

There are three auditoriums in this new storey for the master’s program «Genocide Studies», where there are electronic whiteboards and computers. The presents mentioned the importance of the master’s program «Genocide Studies». In the new storey of the Institute there is a computer room in the library, as well as there is a discussion room.

In the department of Virtual Armenology and Information the process of book scanning,  the activities of the official web site and other seven sites  of the Institute, as well as the strategy of  internet propaganda of IAS were presented to the guests.
